1. Introduction

Welcome to Arovi : Senior Launcher (“the App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). Arovi is a simple Android home launcher designed especially for senior citizens and elderly users. It shows large text and large icons, quick-call contacts on the home screen, optional WhatsApp redirection, a big clock, battery status, Wi-Fi signal, and a flashlight toggle.

We respect your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect (if any), how we use it, and your rights. By installing and using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

3. Information We Collect

Arovi is designed to work primarily on your device. We do not collect, store, or transmit personal information to our servers in the normal operation of the App.

3.1 Information that stays on your device

• Quick-call numbers / contacts you choose – These are selected by you and stored only on your device so the App can show them on the home screen and initiate calls or open WhatsApp.
• App preferences – Settings such as which contacts are pinned, theme choices (if any), or other launcher preferences are stored locally on your device.

3.2 Information we do not collect

• We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any account details.
• We do not upload your contacts list to our servers.
• We do not track your location.
• We do not record or upload photos or camera images.
• We do not use analytics that identify you personally, and we do not sell any data.

If in the future we introduce optional features that require limited data collection (for example, crash reports), we will update this Privacy Policy and, where required, ask for your consent.

4. Permissions We Request

To provide its core features, Arovi requests the following Android permissions. These are used only for the purposes described below and are not used to collect or send your data to us.

4.1 Contacts (READ_CONTACTS)

• Why we need it: So you can select a few important numbers (family or friends) and display them as large, easy-to-tap buttons on the home screen for quick calling.
• How it is used: The App only reads the contacts you choose to pin. Contact data stays on your device and is not uploaded to any server controlled by us.

4.2 Camera (CAMERA) – primarily for flashlight

• Why we need it: On most Android devices the flashlight (torch) is controlled through the camera API. The App uses this permission so you can turn the flashlight on and off from a large icon on the home screen.
• How it is used: The App does not take photos, record video, or access the camera image stream for any other purpose. It only toggles the LED flash.

You can revoke these permissions at any time from your device’s Settings → Apps → Arovi → Permissions. Some features (quick contacts or flashlight) will stop working if the related permission is denied.

5. How We Use Information

Any information that remains on your device is used solely to:

• Display your chosen quick-call contacts and open the phone dialer or WhatsApp when you tap them.
• Show battery level, Wi-Fi status, and time on the home screen.
• Control the device flashlight when you tap the torch icon.
• Remember your launcher preferences so the home screen looks the way you set it.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or selling to third parties.

6. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.

• WhatsApp: If you choose to open a contact in WhatsApp, the App simply redirects you to the WhatsApp application (if installed) using the phone number you selected. WhatsApp’s own privacy policy then applies to any data handled by WhatsApp.
• Phone / Dialer: When you tap a quick-call button, the App opens the system dialer or places a call using the number you chose. The phone app and your mobile carrier handle the call according to their own policies.
• Google Play / Android: Standard system services (such as Google Play services for app updates) may process limited technical data according to Google’s policies. This is outside our control.

We do not integrate third-party advertising SDKs or analytics that collect personal data in the current version of the App.

7. Data Storage & Security

Because most data used by Arovi stays on your device, the security of that data depends largely on your device’s lock screen, encryption settings, and overall device security.

• Contact selections and preferences are stored in the App’s private local storage on your phone.
• We do not operate a backend server that stores your contacts or personal information for the core launcher features.
• If you uninstall the App, the locally stored preferences and selected contacts associated with the App are removed by the Android system.

8. Children’s Privacy

Arovi is designed for senior users. It is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. If changes are material, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users (for example, through an in-app notice or an updated listing on Google Play). Continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
