This Privacy Policy explains how Lodu Board (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our mobile game, website, and related testing builds. Lodu Board is a digital Ludo game with offline play, online/multiplayer features, and AI opponents. The app is currently in testing and has not had a public launch.
1. Who we are
Lodu Board is a mobile and web-connected Ludo board game. This policy applies to:
the Lodu Board mobile application (Android / iOS testing builds);
our website and landing pages;
waitlists, support, and pre-launch testing programs.
We do not sell your personal information.
2. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run the game, keep matches fair, and improve the product. Depending on how you use Lodu Board, this may include:
Account / waitlist data: name or nickname, email address, and messages you send us.
Profile data: in-game display name, avatar/token color preference, language, and settings.
Gameplay data: dice rolls, token moves, match results, win/loss records, room or match IDs, and whether you played vs friends, online players, or AI.
Device data: device type, OS version, app version, language, time zone, screen size, crash logs, and approximate country/region (not precise GPS unless you later grant location permission — we do not need GPS for Ludo).
Identifiers: app instance ID, advertising ID (if ads are enabled and permitted by your OS), and similar device identifiers.
Network data: IP address, connection type, and timestamps used to connect you to a match and prevent abuse.
Support data: screenshots or descriptions you choose to send when reporting a bug.
We do not require your phone contacts, photos, microphone, or camera to play Ludo. If a future feature needs a permission, we will ask at that time.
3. Gameplay, multiplayer & AI
Local / offline play. Matches played only on your device may stay on the device. We may still receive crash or diagnostics data if you are online.
Online / multiplayer. To start or join a match we process your nickname, match ID, moves, and connection data so other players can see the board in real time. Other players can see your public nickname, token color, and in-match actions. Do not use your real name, email, or other personal details as a nickname.
AI matches. When you play against AI, your moves may be processed on-device or on our servers to generate the opponent’s turn, detect invalid moves, and improve difficulty. We do not use AI features to infer sensitive traits (health, politics, religion, etc.).
Fair play. We may log move sequences and device signals to detect cheating, bots, or match disruption.
Lodu Board does not currently offer in-game voice or free-text public chat. If chat is added later, this policy will be updated before that feature goes live.
4. How we use information
Operate the Ludo board, dice, rooms, and AI opponents.
Create and restore your progress and settings.
Authenticate testers, send waitlist or update emails you requested, and respond to support.
Prevent fraud, abuse, cheating, and unauthorized access.
Measure crashes, performance, and feature usage so we can fix bugs before public launch.
Comply with law, store policies (Google Play / App Store), and enforce our terms.
We do not use your gameplay data to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.
5. Legal bases (EEA/UK and similar)
Where required, we process personal data on these bases:
Contract: to provide the game you ask to play.
Legitimate interests: security, anti-cheat, product improvement, and limited analytics, balanced against your rights.
Consent: optional emails, optional advertising identifiers, and any non-essential cookies — you can withdraw consent at any time.
Legal obligation: when we must retain or disclose information to comply with law.
6. How we share information
We share information only as needed:
Other players: public nickname, avatar/color, and live match state.
Service providers: hosting, analytics, crash reporting, email delivery, and cloud infrastructure, under contracts that limit use of your data.
Stores & platforms: Google, Apple, and similar when you download or test the app.
Legal: if required by law, court order, or to protect players, our rights, or safety.
Business transfer: if we merge, sell, or reorganize, data may transfer to the successor under this policy.
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising unless we update this policy and, where required, obtain consent.
7. Advertising, analytics, purchases & app stores
While Lodu Board is in testing we may use privacy-respecting analytics and crash tools to understand stability. We may later show ads or offer optional in-app purchases (for example, cosmetic token skins). If we do:
ad partners may receive a resettable advertising ID and coarse location/country;
purchases are processed by Apple, Google, or another payment provider — we do not store full payment card numbers;
you can limit ad tracking in your device settings (iOS: Allow Apps to Request to Track / Google: Ads / Delete advertising ID).
Store pages, reviews, and account systems are governed by Apple’s and Google’s own privacy policies.
8. Data retention
Match logs: typically a short period needed for reconnects, dispute checks, and anti-cheat (for example, days to a few months).
Account / waitlist: until you ask us to delete it, or the testing program ends and we no longer need it.
Crash and diagnostics: as long as useful to fix the reported issue.
Legal records: as required by applicable law.
When data is no longer needed we delete or irreversibly anonymize it.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures (encryption in transit, access controls, least-privilege admin access) to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Please use a unique nickname, keep your device updated, and never share account codes.
10. Children’s privacy
Lodu Board is a general-audience board game. It is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal data, contact us and we will delete it. Parents and guardians should supervise gameplay and in-app purchases on shared devices.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including the EEA, UK, and California), you may have rights to:
access, correct, or delete personal data;
export a copy (data portability);
object to or restrict certain processing;
withdraw consent;
opt out of sale/sharing of personal information (we do not sell data);
lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise these rights, use the contact details below. We may need to verify your request. You will not be discriminated against for exercising privacy rights.
12. International transfers
Servers and vendors may be located outside your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for those transfers.
13. Cookies and similar technologies
Our website may use essential cookies to run the page and optional analytics cookies. The mobile app uses similar local storage and identifiers (for settings, session, and anti-abuse). You can control cookies in your browser. Blocking essential cookies may break parts of the site.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Lodu Board moves from testing to public release or when we add features (chat, accounts, ads, purchases). The “Last updated” date will change. Material changes will be highlighted in the app or on this page. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy, where permitted by law.
