Effective date: September 4, 2026 · Last updated: September 4, 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Lodu Board game, website, testing builds, and related services (together, the “Service”). By downloading, installing, accessing, or playing Lodu Board, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Agreement to these Terms
Lodu Board is a digital Ludo board game with local play, online/multiplayer matches, and AI opponents. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and the operator of Lodu Board (“we”, “us”, “our”). Additional store terms (Google Play, App Store) also apply when you download the app from those platforms.
If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have authority to bind that organization.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum digital-consent age in your country, if higher).
If you are under the age of majority, you may use the Service only with a parent or guardian’s permission.
You may not use the Service if you are barred from doing so under applicable law or if we have previously suspended your access.
3. Testing mode (pre-launch)
Lodu Board is currently in testing and has not had a public launch. During testing:
features may change, break, reset, or be removed without notice;
progress, nicknames, match history, and any test rewards may be wiped;
servers may be unavailable, delayed, or limited to invited testers;
the Service is provided “as is” for evaluation, not as a finished commercial product.
Testing access is a privilege, not a right. We may end a test at any time.
4. Limited license
We grant you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to install and use Lodu Board on devices you own or control, solely to play the game as intended.
You may not:
copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app except where the law allows;
rent, sell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service;
bypass technical limits, cheat detection, or access restrictions;
scrape, harvest, or mine data from the Service;
use our name, logo, board layout, tokens, or assets except as needed to play.
5. Accounts, nicknames & waitlist
Some features (waitlist, online play, tester builds) may require an email, nickname, or platform account (Google / Apple). You agree to provide accurate information and keep it updated.
You are responsible for activity under your nickname or account.
Do not share login codes, tester links, or account access.
Nicknames must not impersonate others, include personal data, hate speech, or illegal content.
We may reclaim, change, or remove nicknames that violate these Terms.
6. Gameplay rules
Lodu Board follows a digital Ludo-style ruleset (tokens, dice, home bases, colored paths, and a center finish). House rules in the app (safe squares, capturing, extra turns on a six, exact finish, etc.) as shown in the client control the match. If a disconnect, desync, or bug occurs, the server or client may:
pause, reconnect, or cancel the match;
declare a draw, forfeit, or void result;
roll back an invalid move.
Dice outcomes and match state in online play are determined by our systems. You must not attempt to predict, force, or manipulate dice, matchmaking, or timers.
7. Multiplayer, friends & AI opponents
Online matches: other players will see your public nickname, token color, and moves.
AI matches: opponent turns may be generated on-device or on our servers. AI difficulty may change as we test the game.
Fair play: bots, macros, emulators used to cheat, packet tampering, multi-accounting to abuse rewards, and match collusion are forbidden.
Conduct in-match: do not harass, stall in bad faith, or exploit bugs. Report issues instead of abusing them.
We may use match logs to investigate disputes and cheating. Our decision on a match result during testing is final.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
break any law or third-party right;
upload malware or interfere with servers, other players, or the board state;
harass, threaten, or discriminate against anyone;
use hate symbols, sexual content involving minors, or illegal content in names or images;
spam, phish, or advertise unrelated products in the Service;
automate play or scrape the Service;
attempt to access another user’s account or private data;
use the Service for real-money gambling. Lodu Board is a casual board game, not a casino. In-game outcomes have no cash value.
9. Virtual items, ads & purchases
During testing there may be no paid items. Later we may offer cosmetics (token skins, boards, dice styles) or show ads. If we do:
virtual items are licensed, not sold. You do not own them;
they have no real-world cash value and cannot be redeemed, traded outside the app, or transferred except as we allow;
prices, availability, and benefits can change;
purchases are billed by Apple, Google, or another store. Their refund rules apply;
we may revoke items obtained by fraud, chargeback, or Terms violations;
progress wipes during testing may remove items without compensation.
10. User content
If you submit a nickname, avatar, feedback, bug report, or other content (“User Content”), you keep any rights you have in it, but you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, host, reproduce, and display it to operate and improve Lodu Board.
You confirm you have the right to grant this license and that your User Content is lawful. We may remove User Content at any time.
11. Intellectual property
The Service — including the name Lodu Board, UI, board layout, token designs, code, graphics, sounds, and documentation — is owned by us or our licensors. These Terms do not transfer any ownership to you. “Ludo” is a traditional board-game style; our specific implementation, art, and software are protected.
Feedback you send (ideas, suggestions, test notes) may be used by us without obligation or compensation.
12. Third-party services
The Service may link to or rely on third parties (app stores, analytics, cloud hosting, sign-in). Their terms and privacy policies govern those services. We are not responsible for third-party content, outages, or policies.
13. Privacy
How we collect and use information is described in our Privacy Policy. By using the Service you also acknowledge that policy. Please read it before playing online or joining the waitlist.
14. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” ESPECIALLY WHILE IN TESTING. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that matches will be uninterrupted, error-free, cheat-free, or that dice, timers, or AI will always behave as expected. You use the Service at your own risk.
15. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR GAME PROGRESS, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $20. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS; IN THOSE PLACES, OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED.
16. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify us from claims, damages, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms or any law.
17. Suspension & termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access immediately if you breach these Terms, cheat, abuse other players, or if we shut down testing or the Service.
On termination, your license ends. Sections that should survive (IP, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, governing law) remain in effect. We are not required to restore wiped test data.
18. Changes to the Service and Terms
We may update the game, these Terms, or both. The “Last updated” date will change. Material changes will be posted on this page or in the app. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the new Terms, except where the law requires extra consent.
19. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of [YOUR COUNTRY / STATE], excluding conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in [YOUR CITY / JURISDICTION] will have exclusive jurisdiction, except that you may have mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence that we do not override.
If a provision is unenforceable, the rest still applies. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them in connection with a reorganization or sale. These Terms are the entire agreement regarding the Service and supersede prior terms for the same subject.
We do not offer real-money wagering. Nothing in the Service is an offer of gambling.
